Immerse yourself in this rare opportunity to get up close and personal with some amazing animals.
Hosted at Hoo Zoo we enter the enclosures and get face to face with our subjects for those truly intimate images and an amazing experience.
Later in the day we head to the on-site Badger Hide for an evening of spotting and photographing this remarkable animal and more of the woodlands natural wildlife.
*enclosures can include Grey & Arctic Wolves, Lemurs, Capybara, Meerkats, Serval and more

On The Day

The day will be led led by a member of our Award Winning Academy Training Team. All of our Trainers are experienced photographers and have a broad knowledge of all cameras to ensure you get the best from the day. As well as this, a keeper from Hoo Zoo who will be able to assist with and answer any questions you may have on the animals throughout the day

We start the day with a trainer led briefing at our Wildlife hide, which includes photographic principles, controls, and composition. From here we move on to visit the outdoor enclosures where attendees have the opportunity to photograph the various creatures, many of who will get closer than you might think to enhance your experience futher. As the sun begins to lower we head to the wildlife hide to spend an atmospheric evening awaiting foxes, rabbits, birds and more, and the opportunity to capture some much sought after images.

Agenda:(Timings are approximate)
12:00 - Welcome, Introductions and Photographic briefing
13:00 - Outdoor animal encounters (Meerkats, lemurs, wolves, foxes, Capybara and more)
16:00 - Break / free time to roam Hoo Zoo
17:00 - Wildlife Hide Session
19:00 - End of day

Our expert tutor will be on hand throughout to support and guide you through all your camera controls and settings relevant for the day. Some knowledge of Aperture, Shutter and ISO is advisable, but not essential.
On the day you will need your camera, fully charged batteries including spares if you have them, memory cards and lenses that offer a variety of focal lengths (mid range focal lengths for the enclosure encounters and long range lenses for the badgers). It is advisable to bring waterproof clothing and protective footwear as this is an outdoor event and some of the ground areas are uneven.
