Half the size, twice the story: Fujifilm announce the X half, a compact camera inspired by half frame cameras, ideal for storytelling.

Boasting a lightweight and compact body of just 240g and a classic design in three colour options, the X half offers new creative expressions for photographers.

Optimised for vertical compositions with a unique rear LCD monitor, the camera also features a 2 in 1 shooting option, optical viewfinder and the new ‘film camera mode’ which simulates the joy of film photography.

The X half introduces a nostalgic twist with three new filters inspired by classic film photography: Light Leak, Halation, and Expired Film. These join eight popular filters from the instax™ series, giving users a wide variety of creative options that echo the charm of analog cameras — all within a digital format.

Adding to the film-like aesthetic, the X half includes a Grain Effect feature. This allows users to apply natural-looking grain across stills and video, enhancing texture and mood for a truly vintage feel.

For an extra touch of authenticity, the X half is equipped with a new Date Stamp function, letting users imprint the date in the bottom-right corner of images and videos — just like traditional film prints.

Further embracing the spirit of analog photography, the X half offers a Film Camera Mode. In this mode, users select a film simulation and a set number of shots at the start, and can’t review their images until all exposures are taken — emulating the anticipation and experience of shooting with film.
